The Pride of the Eastside, Warren Central High School is home to more than 3000 students in grades 9 through 12. WCHS has a rich history of student and extracurricular success.”

Its school colors are Black and Vegas Gold and the nickname is the Warriors. The school fight song is Rah, Rah For Warren. The original Warren Central opened on January 12, 1925, at the corner of 10th Street and Post Road on the far east side of Indianapolis. It was a consolidation of the Cumberland and Shadeland schools which both had high schools that were too small for the growing township population. Warren Central was built to house grades 7 to 12 and to give the students a city quality education in a farm community. By the late 1950s, the population of Warren Township had once again outgrown its high school and, on September 6, 1960, a new Warren Central opened at its present location off of 9500 East 16th Street. In 1976, the Walker Career Center opened on the property of the high school.

We are so thankful to Warren Township and Warren Central for agreeing to be this year’s festival site for the event featuring over 150 Black and Minority owned businesses, Food Trucks, Live entertainment and so much more all in a homecoming themed environment on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 4pm until 10pm in the heart of the Far Eastside of Indianapolis!!

“As a lifelong advocate, nonprofit leader, and community builder, Samantha has spent years bringing people together to solve problems and create opportunities for families across Warren Township and the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. Whether she’s leading neighborhood initiatives, organizing residents around shared goals, or advocating for children and families, her work has always centered on one question: How can we better serve our community?

Samantha currently serves as President of the Far Eastside Community Council, where she has helped lead community-driven initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods and connect residents with resources. She also serves as Community Builder for the Far Eastside Quality of Life Plan, working alongside residents, educators, nonprofits, businesses, and public agencies to create a shared vision for the future.
